Captain George`s Fish and Chips in Belleville

Terrible experience. They served our food within 5 mins... and it tasted like microwave food for real. Very bland and poor taste, both the fish and the chips. Felt sick within 2 bites. 40$ worth of food thrown away. 1 star because the staff was friendly.. kind of

If you want great fish and chips, this is the place. Hot and fresh. If you are on a diet, go eat a granola bar and quit complaining.

Our son has lived in Belleville for the last year and we were here about two months after he moved. Since then we have gone at least every two months, my friend more often. Everything is very fresh and it’s quick. It’s extremely clean. My friend commented to the waitress that he couldn’t believe how clean everything on the table was. She said it’s because the owner makes them empty and clean all the condiment holders every night. It sounds extreme and like something you wouldn’t appreciate, but seriously you can believe it happens because the salt and pepper and vinegar shakers are all spotless even at dinner time We are moving our son at the end of this month and will visit again. I know we will be back to Belleville in the future, just for the fish and chips.

Portions do not fit the high price. Greasy and staff not as friendly as they should be. We go to Trentps Captain George's where everything is great

I do enjoy this fish place. Serves traditional fish and chips. As I get older my body doesn’t like the batter on the fish so I get my fish batter less. I get a larger fish than I would if I just rip the batter off the 2 piece fish meal.

Service was excellent ... very friendly ... portion size was huge ... price was very reasonable ... halibut was perfectly cooked ... was our first visit and definitely not our last ... will be returning often .. would definitely recommend this place !!!

I found my fish tough, did not enjoy it as much as I have before.i had ordered the Halibut thinking it was a better fish but was wrong.

Good food for sure. Took off a few stars because eveytime you go in, you wait a long time and it is frustrating even when you call in your order in advance. If it's going to be 10 minutes I'd like to get my food in that time. Not 20. Also the portion sizes have been getting considerably smaller and smaller each time. That inconsistency is frustrating.

Delicious fish and chips. Homemade lemon meringue pie was very tasty.

I always considered this place to be great. Good food, reasonable price...not anymore! Not only did the price go up this week, they cut the chips portion in half...at least I'm not wasting food anymore. I just wish the price reflected the smaller portion.

Great spot to get some fish and chips. Staff are always very friendly and the food comes out very quickly. Prices are what you would expect for fish and chips. Daily specials and student specials are also available. Easy walk to the Belleville fairgrounds in the summertime and perfect spot to stay warm and watch the Santa Claus parade in the winter.

Absolutely fantastic! The best lightly battered fish and hand cut fries in the area. Very reasonably priced, great value. I don't believe they serve alcohol, and the food is understandably better when you "eat in". The atmosphere is that of a fish and chip shop, not upscale dining, but it's always clean and bright and the service is great. Salads are pretty good too.

Had halibut fingers (trimmed ends battered) and chips with choice of broccoli cheese or beef vegetable soup for $12.95. Nice soup - I had beef veg. And delicious fish and excellent chips. Served with lemon and tartar sauce. Nice clean restaurant with efficient friedly wait staff.

Great food, great service, but kitchen staff very rude, wide hot meal asked for no coleslaw and no sauce, but when asked to hey a bit more gravy to finish meal they made big deal of it. Kitchen staff need to realize that it only a dollar. Like wow. Last time going here.

Great halibut and fresh cut chips. Cole Slaw was excellent too! Not a fancy place but VERY clean. Friendly and fast service. Reasonable prices, don't go anywhere else for fish and chips!

Ate here today for the first time, loved it. Can't believe I have never eaten here. Went with 2 others and had the Haddock and Chips. Generous portions of fish, fries and coleslaw. Also home made tarter sauce. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Will be going again, definitely
